Forest panel to inspect private estates in Mussoorie

MUSSOORIE: A subcommittee of Union ministry of environment, forests and climate change organized a deliberation on the issue of guidelines under Forest Conservation Act (FCA) 1980 for diversion of private notified land for construction of residential buildings in Mussoorie.
The subcommittee took suggestions and feedback from various stakeholders in the hill town.The panel will also inspect several private forest estates following which they will submit a report to GoI.
Kehkashan Naseem, DFO, Mussoorie said that as owners are not allowed to build residential properties in private notified forest areas, several acres are lying vacant.
